So…I caught the 10:00 am session of HP, the cinema was filled with hyper-active teens and ankle-biters and old couples (who sniffed a lot during a particular scene involving Professor Trelawney and McGonagall).
Overall, it's pretty good. The acting has certainly improved. The first part of the movie seemed to take an unorthodox approach to filming (visually, they probably used a different camera this time), the middle part (ie. Training, brooding and Cho Chan) dragged on for a long time, but the last half of the movie is to me the part worth watching.
Gary Oldman as Sirius Black is awesome! Voldemort is played to perfection by Ralph Fiennes. Refreshing new characters like Luna and Belllatrix are a welcoming change to the usuals. Ron is less annoying (can’t believe I’m saying this, but he’s quite likable in this movie), Hermione is……Hermione (and yes Diana, Emma Watson is quite pretty). Old favourites like Lucius, Remus and Snape are also quite likable, despite their short screen time. Umbridge…was…an evil bitch (well done to the casting director)

Bellatrix – painfully underused, H.B.C. is creepily cool. She got her old make-up kit out for good use this time (unlike numerous other times…Cannes…Oscars…BAFTAs)
Voldemort – Fiennes is classy, classy, classy
Luna – Refreshing character, quite lovable.
Professor Trelawney – had a sad scene….Emma Thompson is so good!
Professor McGonagall – Maggie Smith deserved more screen time!!!
Order of the Phoenix – wickedly cool

THE ANNOYING AND THE UNNECESSARY
Cho – the movie would’ve done better if they cut her screen time out altogether and focused more on the Order of the Phoenix (like it’s suppose to).
Umbridge – as necessary as she might’ve been, she took up too much screen time to an already short 2hrs 10mins running.
It’s much darker than the first 3 (ankle-biter friendly) movies, and is more like the last one…although I would’ve preferred it if the movie was at least 30 minutes longer, with a more complete ending…but the again they still got another 2 to go, so I'm looking forward to those.
